Cash & Credit Cards accepted. Personal checks cannot be accepted at this time. Group tour rates are based on Admission categories. *Please be advised that the tour is not recommended for small children due to the content and duration of the tour.

Hours of Operation

The grounds open at 11:00 a.m.  The first tour of the day departs no later than 11:30 a.m.  The last tour of the day departs no later than 3:30 p.m.  The grounds close at 4:15 p.m.  Tours are approximately 45-60 minutes in length and shortened during Fall Foliage.

April: Saturdays and Sundays (closed Easter)

May: Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays until Memorial Day

From Memorial Day through October 31st, open 6 days a week (closed Tuesdays)

November: Saturdays and Sundays

December: The first 2 Saturdays and Sundays (weather dependent)

Group Tour Information and Reservations

Groups of 15 or more guests are required to make a reservation. Reservations may be made by contacting the Mansion at (570) 325-3229 or the Borough Office at (570)325-3025 x3 after the Memorial Day weekend.

Speaking Engagements

Should your organization or business wish to have a speaking engagement with regard to the Packer Family, please contact us, via email, at asapackermansion@jtborough.org to make the appropriate arrangements. The Museum would be more than willing to come to speak on behalf of the Asa Packer Mansion and/or the Packer Family, for a non-profit donation to the Museum.

Customs and Courtesies

The Mansion is original to the 19th Century and contains priceless objects that were owned by the Packer family. In order to preserve The Mansion’s authenticity, visitors are required to observe and adhere to the following policies to ensure the best possible visit for all.

  •  Smoking is prohibited.
  • Please turn off all cellular phones and other electronic devices.
  • Food and beverages are prohibited inside The Mansion.
  • Strollers and large backpacks or bags are not permitted inside The Mansion.
  • Still photography, filming, video and audio recording are prohibited while on tour.
  • Stay together as a group. Be attentive to your docent’s instructions at all times.
  • Please do not touch the artifacts as the oils and acids even in clean hands can cause irreparable damage.
  • Do not sit or lean upon the furnishings. Refrain from leaning on walls.
  • Service animals only

Restroom Facilities

The Mansion is original to the 1860s, and does have one public restroom. There is a Comfort Station – with tourist information and additional public restrooms – provided by the Pocono Mountain Visitors Bureau at the Train Station.

In the month of October portable bathrooms located near the rear of the mansion are available.
